Originally announced as the Galaxy Win Duos when launched internationally, Samsung’s GT-I8552 was rechristened as the Galaxy Grand Quattro by the time it arrived in sunny Malaysia.

There were two versions of the Galaxy Win and so it is for the Quattro: one which can fit a microSIM card, and a dual-SIM variety which we will be reviewing today. Samsung Galaxy devices of the dual-SIM variety carry the handle Duos that sets them apart from the uni-SIM phones, but other than the SIM card slots there isn’t much different between the Quattro and Quattro Duos.

Where does the Galaxy Grand Quattro stand when stacked against other entries in the extensive Galaxy series- is it as high-end as the flagship Galaxy S4, or lower spec’d out than the 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega?

At a glance

+ Dual SIM device with dual SIM features

+ Relatively good performance for price point

- Generic build

- Unreliable battery life
