When news first broke out that the Sony Xperia Z2 is going to get a successor just a little more than 6 months after its debut, we were skeptical whether the quick upgrade is worth it or even necessary, given that the accepted normal cycle of upgrade is at least 1 year. The Z2 is already an impressive phone with one of the best cameras in class and a remarkable battery life, among others. Topping that in a relatively short period of time is not exactly a simple job.

Alas, the Xperia Z3 is finally here in our hands. Does it deserve to take away the Z2’s short-reign honor as the Japanese company’s poster boy?
