The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is hard to fix

Tuesday, November 06, 2018

Following a teardown of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro by iFixit, it would appear that the Huawei flagship device is quite difficult to repair.

Among other things, the DIY authority discovered that due to excessive glue on the back and front side, repair work is hard. There is a chance that the user may break their device while opening it from the back. On that note, the screen repair is just as complicated for the same reason. Damaging the screen also means the loss of the on-screen fingerprint sensor. Thankfully, replacing the battery is less of a headache.

Overall, the Huawei flagship gets four points out of 10 in terms of repairability easiness, putting it in good company with the Galaxy Note 9, LG G7 and Mate 10 Pro.
